philanthropy throughout the Commonwealth. Merck
Family Fund accepts the common proposal format
form available on the internet from AGM.

for Small Foundations is a membership organization
that provides programs, products, and services
to small foundations with few or no staff.
Council
on Foundations is a nonprofit association
of grantmakers and corporations, working to encourage
responsible philanthropy. This site includes links
to COF Members, Foundation News and Commentary
magazine, press releases, and a primer on foundation
giving.
Chronicle
of Philanthropy's electronic version is updated
every other week on Monday morning, and contains
a summary of the print version's contents, job
announcements, and other information pertinent
to the nonprofitsector.
Foundation
Center is a clearinghouse of information on
all forms of giving. Available at this site are
many publications and resources available at Foundation
Center libraries. It also includes a searchable
bibliographical database of the Center's holdings,
and links to private foundations, corporate grantmakers,
grantmaking public charities and community foundations.
Independent
Sector is a coalition of nonprofits, foundations,
and corporations that works to strengthen not-for-profit
initiative, philanthropy and citizen action.
National
Center for Family Philanthropy offers research,
workshops, and resources to family foundations.
Philanthropy
News Digest (formerly the Philanthropy Journal)
includes the Philanthropy Journal Online, Philanthropy

of Action Without Borders, is a guide to over 44,000

Guidestar
provides information about charities, featuring
a new nonprofit each week. The site includes a "Guide

National
Charities Information Bureau has been evaluating
national charitable organizations against its Standards
for 79 years. This site contains ratings for over
400 charities.
Better
Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance distributes
information about nonprofit organizations with a
national or international scope, including information
on programs, governance, fundraising and finances.
Philanthropy
Journal covers state, national, and international
news about fundraising, giving, managing, volunteering
and technology in the philanthropic and nonprofit
community. They also have a free weekly e-mail bulletin
as well as job postings.
